Queen Mab is a character from English folklore, famously depicted in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" as the fairies' midwife, who brings dreams to sleeping humans. I was particularly drawn to Queen Mab's relationship with men and her ability to influence their dreams and perceptions. She manipulates their subconscious thoughts and desires and her influence can range from providing fleeting joys to igniting dormant desires or sowing the seeds of doubt and despair. Weaver of fantasies and anxieties to the fabric of sleeping minds.
