Welcome to my weird, wonderful world of magic and expression. Where landscapes, people, animals and fairytales merge as one.

I am a painter working primarily in oil and acrylic, creating figurative work rooted in mythology, folklore and symbolic narrative.

My practice draws primarily on both Greek and Celtic mythology, exploring archetypal figures and the enduring presence of myth and legend in prominent landscapes throughout time. These influences are not treated as illustration, but as a way of understanding identity, power, and transformation through image, with the focus being largely on women.

Having grown up in Wales, the Celtic landscape continues to shape my work. The atmosphere, the deep colours, its shifting light, ancient woodlands, vast mountains and enchanting quality informs both the mood and structure of my paintings. There is a feeling within these environments of something held beneath the surface, a power and anciency, which carries through into the figures I create.

My paintings often explore the relationship between human identity and animal form. Inspired by folklore and literature, these pairings act as symbolic extensions of the self. Instinctive, protective, or revealing, I often leave the animal pairing for after the 'being' has taken shape, allowing each figure to come into being of their own accord and also, necessity.

My original works are entirely hand-painted in oil and acrylic, with texture and depth formed through the physical process and often elements of gold drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of kintsugi, the gold representing the soul of the pieces. 

Selected works are also available as fine art prints, with the option for a select few to be hand embellished with the gold. Prints are produced on archival paper to retain the detail and atmosphere of the original paintings in order to best capture and retain the quality and vividness I strive for in my art.

My practice continues to evolve through an ongoing exploration of mythology and folklore and inspiration drawn from an ever broadening landscape. As such, you can expect an unfolding of storytelling, mystery and shifting forms of identity both from the canvas, and, myself as an artist.
